Board meetings are generally held the third Thursday monthly at 3:00 pm at the Learning Center located at 1353 West 760 North in Orem, Utah. Meetings are open to the public.

Board of Trustee meetings are posted at least twenty-four hours in advance on the Utah Public Notice Website. Minutes, recordings, and meeting materials can also be accessed on the Utah Public Notice Website.
Currently there is a vacancy for a board member, and applications are being taken from interested parents/guardians, grandparents, and/or community members. If you have a skill set that you think would benefit our school or desire to serve in this volunteer capacity, we invite you to submit the Board Member Application Form.
Lumen Scholar Institute has a governing Board of Trustees consisting of volunteer parents/guardians, grandparents, and community members. Their responsibilities include ensuring the school honors the original charter document and the accompanying State laws that govern the school, as well as enacting policies that further the mission and goals of Lumen Scholar Institute.
The Board of Trustees oversees the financial health of the school. The Audit Committee includes the Treasurer and all budgets are approved by the Board of Trustees and published on the Utah Public Finance website. In accordance with Utah Code Ann. Section 53G-7-309, the governing board receives a budget report each month. This budget report includes the following information: (i) the amounts of all budget appropriations; (ii) the disbursements from the appropriations as of the date of the report; and (iii) the percentage of the disbursements as of the date of the report. The current budget report is available for public review and previous reports are available by request to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Stakeholders may report concerns of fraud, waste, abuse, or non-compliance directly to the school administration or Board of Trustees. Alternatively, stakeholders may report such concerns directly to the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) through the Public Education Hotline at (801) 538-7813 and full information is available on the Internal Audit website.
